Just like La Tesha and BonnieClare, I've flat feet too and a complete beginner to yoga, I actually started yoga to improve my flat feet and balance but it's really hard to have that proper foundation and pose without worrying that I might be hurting my knees, hips and ankles. Is there a place that you mentioned something about this that I oversaw ?

Btw, I love the way you explain yoga and the phrases that you use, makes me more connected somehow:) I was starting to practice with an app but I was told that there are videos on youtube that help me more ( don't know how I forgot about youtube!!!! )

Thank you so much

Hi, BonnyClare. I didn't even notice this was here before I posted about my flat feet. If you figured anything out please let me know.

I have flat feet so certain poses, even four-part equal standing, are hard for me. However, I'm currently working on increasing my balance and having that proper foundation is vital. Any tips?

With equal weight on both sides of the front of my feet, I end up on the outer edges of my heels, but if I try to but equal weight on both sides of my heels, my arches collapse inward.

So I'm wondering if you have any suggestions to help those of us who are
flat-footed find our optimum foundation and alignment in standing poses, and hopefully avoid knee and ankle pain.

Thanks for all you do, by the way! 🙂 Although this is my first ever comment, I've been following along with your videos since the start of this year. I'm so very grateful for all the time and care you've put in.

It made me realize how much weight I've been putting into my toes while in Mountain (or any pose similar to it, really). I will definitely keep this video in mind as I do my yoga flows. I think it'll help with the balance postures especially by reminding me to ground myself through the four corners of the feet. Thanks again, Adriene!
